Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA)

Lowcountry Workforce Development is a strong and vital economic development partner which benefits new and existing local businesses and job seekers at all levels. It is funded through the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) of 2014. Services and strategies are designed and governed by the Lowcountry Workforce Board (LWB) made up of local businesses, regional government agencies, and workforce system partners. It works very closely with the SC Department of Employment and Workforce (SC DEW) and other regional partners to provide direct client services and support.
