The Lowcountry Council of Governments (LCOG), the rural transportation planning agency for Beaufort, Colleton, Hampton, and Jasper Counties, and the Lowcountry Area Transportation Study (LATS), the transportation planning agency for the Beaufort - Jasper urbanized area, is requesting public input and comments on their corresponding Long Range Transportation Plan (LRTP) updates. Town of Hampton Community Workshop

Give Us Your Input! 

You are invited to attend a community workshop Tuesday, October 19 from 5 PM - 6:30 PM. It will be hosted by the Town of Hampton and the Lowcountry Council of Governments (LCOG). The workshop allows residents of the Town of Hampton to voice what they value most about the community and the issues they would like to see addressed. 

The workshop will begin with a review of the purpose of a Comprehensive Plan and the planning process and conclude with a workshop to secure local views on issues, opportunities, and potentials within the community. Read More

The Lowcountry Council of Governments has prepared a report that provides a summary of 2020 Census data of Beaufort, Hampton,  Colleton, and Jasper Counties. Additionally, there is a summary of 2000-2020 Census population of counties and municipalities with a population of 5,000 or more.

Agriculture Technology Campus

Agriculture Technology Campus, a joint venture project between Mastronardi, Clear Water Farms, LiDestri Food and Drink and GEM Opportunity Zone Fund, disclosed plans to create a cutting-edge 1,000-acre agriculture technology campus in Hampton County. The $314 million investment is expected to create more than 1,500 new jobs over the next five years. The Agriculture Technology Campus will include greenhouses for locally grown, pesticide-free tomatoes, leafy greens, blueberries and other produce; a 150,000-square-foot distribution center; and a co-packing facility. The campus is expected to be operational in 2022 with full operation expected by 2025. Individuals interested in joining the Agriculture Technology Campus or LiDestri Food and Drink team should visit
