In APRIL, the Lowcountry Area Agency on Aging would like to share valuable information for seniors who struggle to communicate, make sound decisions, or may be incapacitated. A Guardianship is a person, institution, or agency appointed by the Probate Court to manage the personal matters for an adult who lacks the capacity to care for himself or herself. If you seek guardianship, you may contact Latoya Grier, Legal Assistance Program Specialist, at 843-473-3961. Also, if you can not afford an attorney, you may contact South Carolina Legal Services at 803-744-9430.
