COVID - 19 Public Service Announcement

In light of the recent coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak and its related public health concerns, Lowcountry Council of Governments office will close to the public effective immediately until further notice. LCOG staff will continue serving the public via phone and online. LCOG’s telephones will be answered as normal from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays and staff will remain accessible.  Staff will also be available via email. LCOG will allow liberal use of sick and annual leave to accommodate those who need to be out and cannot work from home, especially for those who are at higher risk which includes people: with chronic health conditions, over the age of 60, with compromised immune systems. 

In addition, the SC Works Centers in Hampton, Colleton and Beaufort counties are closed to the public effective immediately, until further notice. Please note that SC Works services are available virtually.  Information to access these services is provided below. 

All non-critical travel and meetings are suspended. Employees however, are instructed to participate in required meetings via conference call or virtual meeting. Employees are also to stay in constant communication with supervisors to ensure planning and project delivery activities are not significantly affected by the outbreak. 
Meetings scheduled at our office are cancelled or will be converted to virtual meetings.  

All scheduled usage of our conference rooms through April 30th, are cancelled effective immediately. Any organization that has scheduled use of our office spaces for the remainder of March and April have been notified directly via phone and/or email. We apologize for any inconvenience and will work to reschedule dates on a case-by-case basis. 

LCOG will review this policy periodically following guidelines from the SCDHEC and the CDC and share updates as needed and, when appropriate, on returning to our normal course of business.  Additional updates and recommendations will be communicated via email and
