The Planning Department undertakes varied projects in the areas of community and economic development planning, transportation, housing, economic diversification, infrastructure, and history—all with a regional perspective. Projects are done in-house and in collaboration with consultants. This department also serves as regional demographers and statisticians. Here you can find monthly unemployment tables and graphs and other pertinent data as it is released. The Planning staff uses the most up-to-date ESRI technology to generate GIS mapping features.
